EURRECA attends 3rd DIETS Conference
The DIETS Thematic Network for Dietetics held its third annual conference in Lisbon, Portugal on 23-24 September 2009.DIETS’ was launched in October 2006 under the Socrates-Erasmus programme with the main objective of DIETS is to enhance quality in and to define and develop Dietetics as a discipline across Europe.
The University of Plymouth, UK, is the coordinating institution of the DIETS Thematic Network working in partnership with EFAD – the European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians. There are now well over 100 partner institutions in around 30 countries in the network. Some 133 delegates attended the third annual conference in Lisbon, Portugal and EURRECA was invited to present its work to this international audience of practising dietitians and academics.   The focus of EURRECA’s presentation was on how DIETS can work with and learn from other EC Projects, particularly around dissemination and communication.  Although most delegates had heard of EURRECA, they were not fully aware of the scope of the Network’s work or how they could become more closely involved as the project progresses.
